Our President opened the meeting at 6:02 PM. 74 members and guests were present.

It was great to see so many of you ..We were all busy looking at everyone’s treasures !!

So much to see !! So much to buy !! So much to share with each other!!

We thank everyone for coming out ! This was “Wacky Monday”, This month had 5 Mondays and of course we meet on the 4th Monday.

When I joined the club in 2005 there were 69 members ahead of me .. and at the first meeting I attended there were only 12 members present.

Our club has come a long way. This VFW is the third location for our meetings since I joined. The other two were the old People’s Bank at the Publix shopping center and Flagler Library where we quickly out grew the space given to us.

We are now going to have our third location as well for our annual show which will be at the Elk’s Lodge next March. The other two were at St. Mark’s Church and then St. Thomas Church.

Our growth could not have happened without all the great members we have and all of your help.

The Flagler County Stamp and Coin Club welcomes back long time member # 52 Thania M.

Dave spoke about having a silent auction in the near future and explained how this worked. A unanimous vote sealed the deal. This is tentatively planned for June and will be advertised to the general public to attend. Only members in good standing can place items in the auction. All the details and forms will be available at our May meeting.

Two more tables were purchased for our show. There are still a few tables left. Remember this is a Coin, Stamp and Collectable’s show so let’s get a table and have a lot of fun.

I thank everyone for continuing to put items into our treasure box. The “box” is getting bigger and bigger. Remember that one name will be picked out of the box at the end of the auction and the winning name must be present in order to win.

The 50/50 was won by our 200th member Dean G. who graciously donated his winnings back to the club.

The treasure box would of been won by #198!

We thank Paul and Robert S. for their donation of a stamp album for our raffle at our next show.

We thank very much Phil K.for given us the three rolls of old nickels for all the kids !!!

We thank Emma and Caleb for helping with the “racing doggies” giveaway’s during the auction.

Ed W. gave a fantastic talk on medals. We encourage all members that have an interesting topic (does not have to be just coins or stamps) to stand up and give us a one or two minute talk. We all have other interests as well.

In order to get more youth into coin collecting the club is putting together starter kits. We have the coins we need but we have to get the cardboard 2X2′s for pennies, nickels, and quarters as well as the plastic 81/2 by 11 pages that the coin holders slip into. Please, all of our coin members, help us out with this.

President Dave R. opened the meeting at 6:00 PM. There were 74 members and guests present.

Dave R. welcomed everyone and introduced our four newest members: 196 Mark W and his grandson, 197 Duane M, 198 Joan B, and 199 Sue G. Our club welcomes all of you to our club.

Dave gave a report on security for our show to be held on March 2^nd, 2013 at the Elk’s Lodge located at53 Old Kings Road,Palm Coast,FL32164. Dave reminded all members that the contract for the show states that the member/dealer who rents a table is responsible for their items at the show and if and if a problem occurs that the member/seller should call 911/police for assistance. The FCS&CC is not responsible for any items brought into the show by members/dealers. Dave suggested that the member/dealers bring enough help to watch their tables and keep all items secured.

Dave announced that our club has already received contracts for 27 tables. Our next show is sure to be a sellout.

Three members had a quick talk for our show and tell and each received a special gold plated tin pin for their participation. Thank you to Ed W, Dar F and Mark W.

Dave took a vote for the time for our Holiday Lunch for November 26, 2012 to be held at the Golden Coral Restaurant will be at 3:15. The rate changes at 3:30 so all members have to be there by 3:15 p.m. Of course, all will be reminded in October.

There were a tremendous amount of lots for our stamp, coin and collectables club auction. This was a lot of fun.

The door prize vouchers were won by new member 199 Sue G, and Kraze (what….again)

The 50/50 was won by Dar. Congrats to all.

Minutes of Meeting February 27 2012

Feb. 27, 2012

Today’s meeting was a great success. It was like having a mini stamp and coin show.

A lot of our members brought items in for all of us to buy and sell.

Everyone had a lot of interesting things.

We had 74 members and guests come through our doors to have a great time.

Our club signed up member # 195. We welcome Mr. Stan and a very Happy Birthday to you.

Long time members whom we have not seen for a long time, Shirley S. Paul N. and the Keating family.

Welcome back, it was very good to see all of you at our meeting.

David R. had a lot of fun walking around with our new mobile microphone. Thanks Bob K. for making this possible.

Dave R. put on a short DVD presentation on old postal Valentine Cards. Dave finally figured out how to set up and operate the Projector and Lap top. Way to go Dave. Next meeting Dave hopes to learn how to turn on a cell phone!

Mr. Jim Davis, Postmaster of Palm Coast, was our headline speaker. Jim gave a very informative talk on what is going on at the post office and why the post office is experiencing financial difficulties. Jim was presented a certificate of appreciation along with our club pin and mug for his efforts in helping our club with materials for our annual show.

Our 9th Annual Stamp and Coin Club is moving to the first Saturday in March. This will be on March 2, 2013 and will now be held at the Elks Lodge, 53 Old Kings Road, Palm Coast, Fl 32137. The time of the show will be extended by one hour. Set up is from 8:00 AM till 10:00 AM and the doors will open at 10:00 AM and will run till 4:00 PM. This move will provide additional space for members and dealers for our growing show.

The Elks Lodge will provide lunch for all that are attending. Prices and the menu will be provided at a later date. (We still have a year to go!)

Our club has already sold 15 tables and the Post Office has already reserved a table.

Back by popular demand is our 2nd semi-annual Collectable’s Auction at our March Meeting. Along with our regular auction of stamps and coins all of our members can bring in any collectable item for this auction.

Let’s have a lot of fun with this. Our first Collectable’s Auction was a great success. Let’s make this one even better.

Minutes of the Meetings January 23 2012

The meeting started at 6:00 PM

There were 74 members and visitors present.

Our President opened the meeting by having everyone stand for a moment of silence for Lewis Abela, Dean Robinson, and Barbara Swanson (wife of past secretary John Swanson).

This meeting was our annual good for the club auction. Thanks to the donation of stamp albums from Lewis Abela the auction was a tremendous success.

What a spectacular auction it was. The auction for the good of the club was beyond belief !

Thank You All Who participated by donating and purchasing all of the items.

Our Postmaster did not show for our meeting but he told me that he will be at the Feb. 27th meeting.

Due to the large auction the Valentine’s Day card program will be seen at the Feb Meeting.

The VFW has informed the club that they will not be serving food at our future meetings. So have a snack before you come.

Thank you Bill B. for your assistance with the postage sales for the for the club.

Thank you Paul S. for cataloging the stamp albums for us prior to the meeting.

We now have #191 members !!!!!!!!!!!

50/50 was won by Jay F who was visiting our club.

Meeting was called to
order at 6 p.m.

President David thanked
and welcomed everyone for coming out and introduced all the first time
visitors.

We want to thank everyone
that came out to our meeting with stamp donations !!!!!!!!!!

It was because of that
great article written by Mark Estes and published by the News-Journal..

President David asked
the membership and the dealers if they wish to donate an item for the Chinese
Auction that we will hold at our Feb. 4, 2012 Show.

Bob K. spoke about the
new location of Stitch Art were we get our club shirts.

doing the 50/50 !

It went down in history
as the biggest 50/50 we have ever had!!!

It was won by our
beloved Phil K.

Once again we will
participate at our local library for the Festival of Trees. Having our stamp
and coin tree among all the others in our community is a great way to let our
community know that we exist.

November 29, 2011 at
11:30 if you wish to come and help to decorate the tree.

We will also be
participating at the Home Show Jan. 28 and 29, 2012.

Mark your calendars: Our
annual show is Feb. 4, 2012. Tell your friends. Flyers are available.

What a great, great, attendance
we had at our youth program at the Flagler County Public Library on Tuesday
Oct. 25, 2011. Final count was 57 guests and members. All the tables were full.
Quite a few came in late but did not leave empty handed.

The kids were very cute
in the way they expressed themselves!

Minutes of Meeting Sep 27 2011

President David Rosenthal called the meeting a little after six.

Attendance was 77 members, 7 visitors, and 6 Dealers for a total of 90. Soon we will be breaking 100.

Quite a few people from our community are coming in for appraisals and are selling their holdings here
at the club.

Welcome back John H. Glad you and yours are back safely.

We welcome the Entire Keating Family to our club.

Dave spoke about our annual show on Feb. 4th. Almost all the tables have already been spoken for. If
anyone wants a table please contact Dave as soon as you can.

Our library program for our community youth will take place on October 25th at 10:00 a.m. at the
Flagler County Public Library at the intersection of Belle Terre Parkway and Palm Coast Parkway.

Education was presented by Ray H. From Jacksonville who gave a great presentation on sculptures and Ed
W. who gave a hands on presentation on clay medallions.

Frank D. gave a very good talk about the Post Office problems and will give us an update next month.

What a fun auction was had by all! This was our first collectable’s auction and was well received by
all who came. We will do this twice a year. The next one will be March 26th, 2012.

October will be our last regular meeting for the year. November we will have our Holiday meal on the
Nov. 28th, and no meeting in Dec. for the Holidays.

Minutes of Meeting Aug 22 2011

Meeting came to order a
little bit after 6:00 PM

There were 76 visitors
and members present.

There was a lot of
buying, selling, and trading taking place from 5:00 PM till 6:00 PM and free
appraisals on stamps, coins, silverware, and collectable’s for the general
public who came to visit us.

Our club has appointed
our beloved Ed Wolf as Director of Education. If you need to know something
about anything please go to Ed, He has a great deal of knowledge about
anything. Hee Hee!!

Our good friend Bill,
branch manager from PNC, came in to be introduced to our members and gave a hot
and cold beverage insulated cup to everyone present.

Dave R. spoke about a
stamp from Korea that was sold out and increased from 4 cents face to an
astounding cat. value of 25 cents. This over a period of only 30 years.

Dave R. also spoke about
Olney, the post office dog that traveled around the country by train.

Special FDC’s were given
to Jose and William for knowing the dogs name.

Dave R. announced that
the applications for our annual stamp show on Feb. 4th are now available. If
you need a table please contact Dave quickly to make sure you get a spot. We
have sold out our show 4 years in a row.

Our youth program will
take place at the Flagler County Public Library on October 25th at 10:00AM.
Please show up to give us a hand. Last year we had 47 show up for this class.

Jose L. gave a very
interesting talk on a few of the Puerto Rico stamp issues.

Lewis A. made a motion
and seconded by Dar A. for the club to Sponsor Amanda Provenzano and the
Synchrobelles, they have won the State Championships three times in a row and
are now trying for the fourth, $50.00 for the year. This organization for youth
is in desperate need of funds to participate in the state and national events.
Our club will be listed in their newsletter that goes out to all the sponsors
and families.

Francine F. had a great
time at our free stamps for youth table!!! And let’s not forget Helen who is
being mentored by Francine at the youth table!!

Minutes of Meeting July 25 2011

Visitors entered our doors.

Once again a terrible
rain storm hit just before the doors opened at 5:00 PM.

Our president welcomed
everyone who came and long time no see Janice S. welcome back Janice.

Thanks to Dean for
donating for the good of the club and for the Famous Treasure Box which keeps
growing. Remember, to win the treasure
box you have to stay to the end of the auction.

Al and CL also donated
for the good of the club

Dar gave a short talk
about counterfeit coins that was received at her bank.

David talked about
special handling stamps along with a funny story about runaway loose baby
chicks on his mail route. These four stamps that complete this series.

was finally shown using
the club’s projector. Dave now knows how to get the projector working right.
Great job Dave. The images were great. Dave
also shared a sheet showing counterfeit invert stamps with a regular one. These
were the Canadian and American versions of the 4 cent St. Lawrence Seaway

Dave reminded everyone
that all any member has to do is make a cd of their collectable’s to share and
we can show it to our membership. Help is available to those (like Dave) that
need help in doing this.

Dave talked about the
costs of running our meeting and stressed that everyone can help by
participating in the 50/50.

The response to our
request for donations in Linn’s and Coin World has been great. The stamps and
coins will be used to attract new youth members and young at heart to our club
and will be distributed at the annual home show and our annual stamp and coin
show.

Silvia R. has personally
contacted by mail and phone every donor. Thank you Silvia R. (I think I will
keep her another 40 years!)

Bob K. is looking into a
charter bus for the stamp show in Dec. and the coin show in Jan. More details
will follow.

John D. and Al won this
month’s vouchers.

Nancy did the 50/50 and
she also won the 50/50. Thanks for all your help Nancy.

Our beloved Bill Bullis
name was drawn for the Treasure Chest.

St.Augustine will be
having their yearly show on Nov.5 at the VFW in St.Augustine.

Christine and Angela,
Jerry and Lily s Granddaughters, were presented with brand new albums donated
by Louis A. and by Marilyn and the members of the Pottstown Stamp Club located
in PA.

Minutes of Meeting June 27 2011

59 members and guests were in attendance

By 5 p.m. we had a pretty good turn out of some early birds.This is a great time to buy, share, trade and sell your stamp and coin items before the meeting starts.

Once again the VFW cooked hamburgers, hot dogs and all the fixings.. The drinks from the Bar are excellent.

Quite a few of our members brought in their treasures to sell and trade. All of our members are encouraged to come and do the same ..

We also had a gentleman and his wife selling their old mint stamps at face value. This was a big hit for our members. They told us that they will return at the July meeting on the 25th with the rest of their holdings.

At 6 p.m. President David Rosenthal called the meeting to order.

There were 59 members and visitors present.

This was a great turnout considering the downpour that hit the area at the same time.

We had two new members sign in join our great club .We are up to 182 ..

Ed W. gave a fanctastic presentation on the 1939 World’s Fair. Ed shared a rare stereo type fold out post card from the fair.

Hein D.B. also gave an educational talk on the art of collecting stamps.

Our beloved Sergeant of Arms gave us some trivia on stamps.

Dean Robinson talked about 9-11.

A new subject was brought up about carpooling or renting a bus to major stamp and coin shows for our members. This will be discussed further.

Frank S. donated some Coin Books for the club members.

Phil K. gave the club a bigger treasure box which is getting full. Please bring in some fun coin or stamp related items for the treasure box. Remember, we will pick out one name at the end of the auction and if that member is present he or she will win the treasure box.

Vouchers were won by Bob C. and James W. ( He is the last one to join as of our meeting on 6-27

Loui A. once again won the 50/50 !!!!! We have lost count as to how many times Loui has won but we think it is nearing 25 times!! Hee Hee. At least it seems that way..

Coin World and Linn’s Stamp news has listed our request for donations. This was a great resource for our Home Show and Stamp show last year and provided many items that were given away for the youth in our area.

PLEASE NOTE. THE VFW KITCHEN WILL BE CLOSED AT OUR NEXT MEETING ON JULY 25TH.

President David Rosenthal started the meeting at 6:00 PM and welcomed everyone, and thanked them for coming out.

There were 74 members and visitors that came through the doors. Quite a few people came in to sell their stamp collections and coins. Everyone was quite pleased and thanked all of us.

It was great to see you all, you are all loved soooooooooo much!

Our show and tell was magnificent very educational, we have so much to learn from our fellow philatelic and numismatic friends.

A million thanks To our beloved Joe B. for the speakers and now we can run the projector with sound.

Certificates of appreciation were given out to Helen ,Gerie ,and Paul S.

Loui won the 50/50.

Our guest speaker was Sister Bernard Joseph, Vice President of the St. Augustine Stamp Club.

She talked about her Vatican collection how it came to be in the possession of the Convent..

We presented her with a certificate of appreciation, our club’s pin for the St. Joseph Convent and for the Sisters, four Beautiful tailored to the teeth ceramic Nuns outfitted the old fashion way, with their black habits ..

We asked that in the future when all of her collection will be sent to the Vatican for our certificate of appreciation to be also sent !!

What a great honor that would be for all of us!

It was great to see Ginny and Gunter, Joseph L., Royce and Helen, and Mark W. They had not attended in a long time!

Our new shirts look so good on everyone!! The colors are great!!!! If interested in ordering the new style shirt please contact Jennifer or Ann at Stitch Art at to make arrangements. Their phone # is 386-437-4984.

We want to Thank Phil K. for his continuous generosity towards our club.

We want to Thank Mark W. for his generous contribution of coins for our programs.

Paul S. introduced a new form for the members to fill out if they are interested in trading, selling, ect their coins and stamps. No personal information will be on this form except our members interests. This way all of our members will know who to go and see to trade, sell ect. their duplicate stamps and coins.

The food provided by the VFW was once again great! Thank you John and Dianne, for given your time to us. Dianne is John’s his wife!

The last of the Money Monkeys were given out during the auction.

Royce your number was picked out of the Treasure box, but you and Helen were gone.

We Thank Frankie, Jack, David and CL for doing the auction.

David, our beloved President, wants to thank all of our members who pitch in and help with the tables, auction, candy, lights, sound, fans, food, clean up, sign in table, 50/50 collection, and end of meeting table put away help. This is our club and it great to see everyone helping.

As a final thought, David and I stopped by Dan and Edith’s store at the European Village to say hi. Dan and Edith both wanted us to say hi to everyone. They have not forgotten us. Their store closes at 6:00 pm and by the time everything is secured it is usually to late for them to get to the meeting. The store is beautiful. Every member should take a moment the next time you are near their location to stop by and say hi.
